Phew, just in time!

I'm back and better, just in time for Christmas! Thank you for all your good wishes and positive vibes, they obviously worked! With barely a moment left to spare I've decorated 3 Christmas cakes. I always make two smaller ones to give away to family and for a change this year I've gone for marzipan and icing on the sides and fruit and nuts on the top. They're stuck on with an apricot glaze and were so easy to do.

The next job was to make batches of mince pies. There are some for our neighbours, some for the lovely lady who keeps our local Post Office and shop (and looks after all the Fingerprint post), and the rest were hoovered up remarkably quickly by the workmen. Makes a nice change from bacon sarnies!

Amelie has totally got to grips with Christmas this year. To make sure the reindeer know where to land, we've sprinkled magical reindeer food on the grass (porridge oats and glitter).

Oh, yes, the scaffold and tarpaulins? Under there somewhere is our house. Not very festive, but come New Year the house will be ready to be unwrapped. Can't wait.

Happy Christmas to you all and thank you for following my blog this year.

Love Laura
